Penn State Schuylkill women's volleyball continued its opening weekend on the road with a challenging trimatch at Marywood University, facing Alvernia in the opener before closing against the host Pacers. Despite falling in both matches, the Lions displayed fight and resilience, rallying multiple times against tough NCAA Division III competition.
Match 1: Alvernia 3, Penn State Schuylkill 1 (20–25, 25–17, 25–13, 26–24)
Schuylkill started strong, capturing the opening set 25–20 behind aggressive swings and steady defense. The Lions nearly forced a decisive fifth set, rallying late in set four before dropping a narrow 26–24 decision.

Amanda Burns powered the offense with 9 kills and 10 points.

Kenzie Staller added 6 kills while Lainey Dusel and Amira Douglas chipped in 5 kills apiece.

Setter Ryliegh Sinko tallied 18 assists, 15 digs, and 2 aces, while libero Lyla Kershner anchored the back row with a team-high 27 digs.
Match 2: Marywood 3, Penn State Schuylkill 0 (25–12, 25–21, 25–15)
In the second game, the Lions fought through long rallies but fell to host Marywood in straight sets. Schuylkill rallied late in the second, pushing the Pacers deep before dropping 25–21.

Dusel again led the attack with 5 kills and 4 service aces, posting a team-best 9 points.

Burns and Alexa McLaughlin combined for 4 kills, while Sinko dished out 12 assists and collected 17 digs.

Kershner turned in another strong defensive effort with 18 digs .
Building Forward
With four matches under their belt, including three against strong Division III programs, the Lions (1–3) continue to show energy and determination. The young squad is gaining valuable experience as they build chemistry and prepare for PSUAC play.
