CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Men's Soccer traveled to Center Valley, PA on Saturday to open their season against NCAA Division III opponent DeSales University, falling 15-1 to DeSales.
DeSales caught fire early in the contest, finding the goal twice in the opening minutes of the contest. Looking to extend their lead to 3-0. Vinny Schlosser came up with a save at 4:36, and again at 5:58. Schuylkill's defense was able to hold DeSales to no points for the next 30 minutes of the contest.
Pau Pumarola brought Schuylkill within a goal, scoring at the 31:37 mark. DeSales finished the period strong, scoring three goals to go up 5-1 heading into the second period.
DeSales went on to score 10 goals in the second period, totaling 27 shots during the period.
Schuylkill (0-1 overall) will return to action Thursday, September 7th as they take on Penn State York on the road. Start time for that contest is 4:00 p.m.
