Women's Cross Country Participates in LHU Invitational
Penn State Schuylkill Women’s Cross Country made an appearance at the Lock Haven University Invitational (6k) on Saturday.
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Cross Country made an appearance at the Lock Haven University Invitational (6k) on Saturday.
Walsh University secured first place in the event, finishing with a team score of 56. Walsh had an impressive showing, placing three runners in the top 10 (6th, 7th, and 8th). The individual top honor went to Ines Macadam of Tiffin University, who finished the race with a time of 21:19.1.
Malak Mowafi (Iselin, NJ / JFK Memorial) was the lead runner for Schuylkill, completing the 6k race in 30:57.2. Farangiz Kholmatova (Fergana, UZB / Uzbekistan) was closely behind, placing one spot behind Mowafi at 31:01.0. Kholmatova and Hanna Bulles (Reading, PA / Exeter) both achieved personal bests in their 6k times. As a team, Schuylkill finished 29th overall in the event.
Schuylkill will run in the Highlander Invitational at Cairn University on Saturday, October 5.
