Schuylkill Battles Tough in Non-Conference Match at Immaculata
Lainey Dusel led the Lions with 9 kills as Schuylkill wrapped up non-conference play on the road.
Penn State Schuylkill volleyball showed strong stretches in each set but fell 3–0 (21–25, 15–25, 16–25) to NCAA Division III opponent Immaculata University on Tuesday evening inside Alumnae Hall.
The Lions hit .233 in the opening frame behind a balanced attack from Dusel, Amanda Burns, and Addie Stagon, keeping the set tight before the Mighty Macs closed on a late run. Dusel continued her solid play to finish with 9 kills and 11 points, while Burns added 4 kills on a .214 hitting percentage.
Setter Ryliegh Sinko guided the offense with 16 assists and contributed 10 digs on the defensive end. Libero Lyla Kershner anchored the back row with 8 digs and a service ace, while Sierra Wishnefsky added 7 digs and 3 service aces of her own.
As a team, Schuylkill totaled 22 kills, 21 assists, and 33 digs while continuing to show improvement in serve receive and defensive coverage.
