Penn State Schuylkill struck first in the opening inning, but Penn College responded with a seven-run fourth inning to pull away for a 9–1 victory in game one.
The Lions took an early lead when Mackenzie Carl singled to drive in Jade Weiss in the first inning. However, Penn College broke the game open in the fourth with a series of hits and capitalized on a defensive miscue to score seven runs in the frame.
Carl accounted for Schuylkill's lone hit of the game, while Weiss scored the only run.
