Devor’s Big Day Highlights Split for Penn State Schuylkill in Myrtle Beach
Keira Devor drove in six runs across two games, highlighting a strong offensive day for Penn State Schuylkill during a split in Myrtle Beach.
Game 1 – Penn State Schuylkill 10, Martin Luther 5
Penn State Schuylkill capitalized on patience at the plate and timely hitting to open the day with a 10–5 victory over Martin Luther, overcoming an early deficit and breaking the game open late.
Martin Luther jumped ahead early, taking a 3–0 lead through two innings, but Penn State Schuylkill quickly responded. In the third, the Lions began to apply pressure before the offense delivered the decisive moment an inning later.
The turning point came in the fourth inning when Keira Devor delivered a bases-clearing single to left-center, driving in three runs and flipping a one-run deficit into a 6–4 Penn State Schuylkill lead. Devor added two more RBIs in the fifth inning, finishing the game with a 3-for-4 performance and five RBIs.
Penn State Schuylkill's aggressive baserunning also played a key role.
Jade Weiss reached base four times, scored three runs, and stole three bases, including an early steal of home that put the Lions on the board.
Additional offensive support came from several contributors throughout the lineup.
Aryanna Bodge scored twice and added an RBI while also contributing in the circle later in the day.
Dakota Larocque drove in a run with a second-inning single.
Despite Martin Luther finishing with 11 hits, Penn State Schuylkill made the most of its opportunities, drawing 10 walks and producing the key hits in the middle innings to secure the win.
Game 2 – Keystone 7, Penn State Schuylkill 2
Penn State Schuylkill returned to the field later in the day against Keystone College, collecting eight hits but ultimately falling 7–2 after Keystone used a big third inning and several defensive miscues to take control.
The Lions found early success at the plate in the third inning.
Keira Devor continued her strong day with a two-run single, bringing home Jade Weiss and Mackenzie Carl to give Penn State Schuylkill a brief lead.
Bodge and Carl each finished with two hits, helping the Lions out-hit Keystone despite the final score.
However, Keystone responded with a four-run third inning, highlighted by a two-run triple from Clara Sandly, and added two more runs in the fourth to build separation.
In the circle, Chloe Heckman started the game and also contributed offensively with two hits, while Aryanna Bodge provided a bright spot in relief by pitching two scoreless innings with four strikeouts to close the game.
Although the Lions produced eight hits, four defensive errors allowed Keystone to extend innings and convert opportunities into runs.
