Lions jump out early but fall 4-3 in a tight contest against Madison College.
March 13, 2025 – Myrtle Beach, SC
Penn State Schuylkill softball opened the scoring with a four-run first inning but couldn't hold off Madison College's late push, falling 4-3 in a well-fought matchup.
Schuylkill's offense struck early, with Emma Crisswell driving in the first run on a double to center, followed by an RBI single from Kaely Walshaw and a two-run hit by Keira Devor to cap the inning. The Lions' bats stayed quiet the rest of the way as Madison chipped away at the lead, scoring twice in the fourth before capitalizing on an error in the sixth to plate the game-winning run.
Crisswell was solid in the circle, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out six over six innings. Despite out-hitting Madison 7-4, Schuylkill couldn't cash in on late scoring opportunities.
