Lions Battle Through Tri-Match at Elizabethtown

Austin Fries totaled 12 kills and Reno Plesnarski added 13 across the day as Penn State Schuylkill competed hard in a pair of matches against Drew and Elizabethtown on Saturday

Penn State Schuylkill opened the day against Drew, falling in three sets (25-11, 25-19, 25-16). The Lions showed improvement after the opening frame, posting 10 kills in the second set and eight more in the third. Fries led the offense with seven kills and added 11 digs for a strong all-around performance. Jeremiah Miller finished with six kills and five digs, while Reno Plesnarski added six kills and five digs. Williams directed the offense with 19 assists and an ace, and Bryce Hensley contributed two kills, a service ace, and a block assist.

In the second match, Schuylkill kept things competitive early before Elizabethtown secured the sweep (25-20, 25-18, 25-14). The Lions battled in the opening set with multiple ties before the Blue Jays pulled away late. Plesnarski paced the attack with seven kills and two service aces, while Fries added five kills and five digs. Miller tallied four kills and seven digs, and Hensley chipped in four kills with six digs defensively. Williams once again ran the offense with 19 assists and an ace, while Zach Fisher added a solo block and a block assist at the net.
