With just one match left in their second season as a program, the Penn State Schuylkill men's volleyball team battled through a tough tri-match on Saturday against Saint Elizabeth and host Lancaster Bible.
Game 1: Saint Elizabeth 3, Penn State Schuylkill 0
Set Scores: 25–7, 25–10, 25–11
The Lions opened the day against Saint Elizabeth and were unable to find their rhythm offensively, falling in straight sets. Despite a more competitive third set, Schuylkill was outpaced by the Eagles' strong service game and attacking presence.
Reno Plesnarski led the Lions with 3 kills and 7 assists, while Jeremiah Miller added 3 kills and 3 digs. Ashton Owens chipped in 3 kills and 4 receptions. Defensively, Aramis Rosario-Gonzales posted a team-high 5 digs.
Saint Elizabeth controlled the match with a .278 hitting percentage and 16 service aces. Kennedy Ibezim led the Eagles with 6 kills and 6 aces.
Game 2: Lancaster Bible 3, Penn State Schuylkill 0
Set Scores: 25–9, 25–16, 25–17
In the second match, the Lions faced a dominant Lancaster Bible squad, falling again in three sets. Schuylkill showed flashes of energy, especially in sets two and three, but the Chargers' efficient offense and powerful serving proved too much.
Jeremiah Miller again led the way with 7 kills, while Reno Plesnarski dished out 7 assists. Zach Fisher added 2 blocks, and Aramis Rosario-Gonzales recorded 5 digs to anchor the back row.
Lancaster Bible hit .418 as a team and racked up 15 aces, with Zeke Clark and Zach Wyant combining for 7 of them.
The Lions will look to close out their 2025 season with a strong performance in their final match as they continue building a competitive foundation in just their second year of varsity men's volleyball.
