Schuylkill men's volleyball fights hard in a doubleheader, making history with their first-ever set victory.
The Penn State Schuylkill men's volleyball team showed tremendous fight and resilience in their doubleheader against Bryn Athyn College, marking a major milestone in program history with their first-ever set victory in the second match. Despite dropping both matches, the team demonstrated noticeable improvement, competitiveness, and growth, putting up strong performances across both contests.

Bryn Athyn took the first match 3-0 (25-11, 26-28, 26-24, 25-23), but Schuylkill made them work for every point. After a slow start in the opening set, the team responded with an incredible effort in the second set, pushing Bryn Athyn to extra points before narrowly falling 28-26. Strong offensive contributions came from Reno Plesnarski (9 kills) and Bryce Hensley (9 kills, 4 service aces), while setter Liam Ruggie facilitated the offense with 19 assists. The defensive presence of Zach Fisher and David Imeogu at the net provided key moments to keep Schuylkill in the fight.

The second match saw Schuylkill break through with their first-ever set win, a testament to their continued perseverance and determination. Although Bryn Athyn claimed the 3-1 victory (25-11, 28-26, 26-24, 25-23), Schuylkill's second-set triumph was a defining moment. The team's offensive execution improved significantly, highlighted by standout performances from Jeremiah Miller (4 kills) and Jayden Ferdinand (5 kills). Strong defensive play from the back row, led by Aramis Rosario-Gonzalez (7 digs), kept the Lions in every rally.
The team will look to build on this momentum as they return home for their final match of the season on Monday, February 17, at 6 PM against Valley Forge. This will be their last home game, and they are eager to close out the season on a high note.
