Strong Start for Penn State Schuylkill Men's Volleyball Program
The men's volleyball team showed promise and determination in their season opener, laying the groundwork for a strong future.
Even though the men's volleyball team faced a tough loss in their season opener against Valley Forge, we saw several bright spots that highlight their growth and potential. This is just their second year as a program, and the team is steadily building its foundation for success.
Highlights from the Match:
- Reno Plesnarski led the team offensively, recording 7 kills and 8 points overall, with an impressive .267 hitting percentage.
- Liam Ruggie contributed 2 kills on 4 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage and also served 4 aces, showing strong versatility.
- Ashton Owens and Zach Fisher also posted solid performances with efficient hitting percentages of .500 and .333, respectively.
- Team Effort: The team collectively recorded 19 kills and maintained a .170 hitting percentage, showcasing steady improvement and teamwork.
The team's resilience and determination were evident, especially in the third set where they scored 19 points and fought valiantly. With continued practice and focus, the program is laying a strong groundwork for future seasons.
They're back in action Sunday at Wilkes University.
