Chambers, Leininger Pace Schuylkill Track & Field at Ursinus
Penn State Schuylkill track & field competed at the Ursinus College Invite (April 3–4) in Collegeville, PA, highlighted by Tyrone Chambers’ third-place finish in the high jump and Hannah Leininger’s runner-up performance in the javelin.
On the men's side, Tyrone Chambers continued his strong season with a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.90m (6' 2.75"). Chambers also competed in two additional jumping events, finishing 8th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.50m (41' 0.25") and 19th in the long jump at 5.97m (19' 7").
Ryan Galen led the throws group, placing 11th in the discus with a throw of 37.79m (124' 0") and 12th in the shot put with a mark of 11.58m (38' 0").
On the track, Lee Newton recorded the top sprint results for Schuylkill, finishing 21st in the 400 meters (51.86) and 39th in the 200 meters (23.52). The 4x400 relay team of Chambers, Francisco Ortiz, Mario Ortiz, and Newton posted a time of 3:40.87.
For the women, Hannah Leininger delivered one of the top performances of the meet, finishing 2nd in the javelin with a throw of 34.81m (114' 2"). Lainey Dusel also competed strongly in the event, placing 9th at 28.64m (93' 11"), while Megan Hauser finished 11th with a throw of 25.06m (82' 3").
Hauser also competed in two additional throwing events, placing 12th in the shot put (10.36m / 34' 0") and 17th in the discus (28.63m / 93' 11").
