Galen Leads Lions at Danny Curran Invitational

Penn State Schuylkill track and field competed Saturday at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University, with several Lions turning in solid performances across running, jumping, and throwing events.

Freshman Ryan Galen delivered the program's top finish of the meet, placing seventh in the discus with a throw of 41.60m (136' 6"), while also competing in the shot put where he recorded a mark of 10.74m (35' 3").

Sophomore Tyrone Chambers also had a strong showing in the jumps, finishing ninth in the high jump after clearing 1.91m (6' 3.25"). Chambers added additional points for the Lions with marks in both the long jump and triple jump.

On the women's side, freshman Hannah Leininger continued to impress in her first collegiate season with an eighth-place finish in the javelin (34.13m / 112' 0"), while Megan Hauser added a solid effort in the shot put.

Penn State Schuylkill's distance runners were active throughout the meet as Ashton Owens posted a top-20 finish in the 3000m steeplechase, and the Lions closed the meet with a 4x400 relay effort.
