Track and Field Competes in the West Chester University Invitational
Penn State Schuylkill Men’s and Women’s Track and Field competed in the West Chester University Invitational this past Saturday. Pascal Deppisch became the first Schuylkill track athlete to compete in the steeplechase event, finishing in 4th place.
WEST CHESTER, PA - Penn State Schuylkill Men's and Women's Track and Field competed in the West Chester University Invitational this past Saturday, facing off against the host school West Chester University, Holy Family University, Wilmington University, and Goldey-Beacom University.
Pascal Deppisch (Danville, VT / Danville) represented Schuylkill in the Men's 1500 meters. During that event, Deppisch finished in 8th place with a time of 5:12.17. Deppisch also represented Schuylkill in the Men's 3000m steeple. It was the first time in school history that a male or female athlete has represented Schuylkill in this event. Deppisch finished in 4th place with a time of 11:34.
Nadia King (Harrisburg, PA / Susquehanna) competed in the Women's 100 meters, finishing in 7th place with a time of 13.91. King also competed in the Women's 200 meters as well as the Women's 100m hurdles. Malak Mowafi (Iselin, NJ / John F Kennedy) made an appearance in the Women's 800 meters, while JiaYi Gong (Ashland, PA / North Schuylkill) made an appearance in the Women's 1500 meters. Evelyn Louca also made an appearance for Schuylkill, competing in the Women's 100m.
Schuylkill finished in 5th place overall for both men and women.
