Lions Continue to Build Despite Setback at Valley Forge

Penn State Schuylkill men's soccer hit the road for a non-conference test against NCAA Division III Valley Forge on Wednesday evening, falling 7–0. Despite the scoreline, the Lions showed signs of growth with nine total shots—four on target—and seven corner kick opportunities, creating chances that will serve them well as they continue to build team chemistry under a new head coach and with many fresh faces in the lineup.

Goalkeeper David Hauer was busy in net, turning away 11 saves against a relentless Patriots attack, while Jake Moser and Connor Troutman each placed shots on goal to keep the defense honest. The Lions battled to the end, keeping composure and discipline with just two fouls in the match, a sign of their commitment to controlled play and continued improvement.

The Lions now turn their focus to PSUAC competition, where they'll open league play on Saturday, September 13, when they host Penn State Scranton at 2 p.m. as part of an on-campus tripleheader with women's volleyball (12 p.m.), men's soccer (2 p.m.), and women's soccer (4 p.m.).
