Game 1: Hazleton 3, Schuylkill 1
Despite a strong pitching performance from Tristan Baer, Penn State Schuylkill dropped a close opener to Hazleton, 3-1. Baer struck out 10 over 7 innings of work, but Hazleton took advantage of timely hits and a passed ball to build their lead. Owen Zimmerman drove in the Lions' lone run on a bases-loaded walk, but Schuylkill couldn't mount a late comeback.
Game 2: Schuylkill 4, Hazleton 3
In Game 2, Schuylkill bounced back behind the leadership of their seniors. Owen Zimmerman starred at the plate and on the mound, collecting two hits, stealing a base, scoring twice, and earning the win in relief with three scoreless innings. Brenan Adams delivered an early RBI single, and Yostin Guerrero provided a clutch two-run single in the fifth inning that proved to be the difference. The Lions' defense tightened up late to preserve the 4-3 victory.
Between games, Schuylkill recognized its four senior leaders — Pedro Rosario, Chris Duffy, Kyle Kaminski, and Owen Zimmerman — for their major contributions to the program's success and their roles in helping the team reach new milestones.
