Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer Earns Multiple PSUAC Honors
Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer received notable PSUAC All-Conference honors, with eight players recognized, including Coach of the Year Kaylee Berkheiser, Player of the Year and Co-Defender of the Year Zoë Gannon, and Rookie of the Year Olivia Dress.
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – The Penn State Schuylkill Women’s Soccer team celebrated a standout season, securing multiple PSUAC All-Conference honors, including Coach of the Year for Kaylee Berkheiser, Player of the Year and Co-Defender of the Year for Zoë Gannon, and Rookie of the Year for Olivia Dress. Eight players were recognized, highlighting a remarkable season of talent and teamwork.
Zoë Gannon (Leesport, PA / Schuylkill Valley) earned both PSUAC Player of the Year and Co-Defender of the Year honors after an impressive season featuring 13 goals, 3 assists, and 29 total points. Gannon, in her fourth consecutive first-team selection, led the PSUAC with 74 shots and ranked second in goals (13), total points (29), and game-winners (2). This award marks her third Defender of the Year recognition, underscoring her consistent excellence on the field.
Olivia Dress (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Schuylkill Haven) made a strong entrance as Rookie of the Year, scoring 10 goals and adding 6 assists for a total of 26 points. Ranking among the PSUAC’s top five in both goals and points, she also placed second in assists and recorded the league’s third-highest shot percentage at .263.
Head Coach Kaylee Berkheiser was honored as PSUAC Coach of the Year, guiding Penn State Schuylkill to a successful conference run and a second-place finish.
Additional first-team selections included Brittney Holland (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area), Nia Bronson (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove), and Grace Fenstermacher (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM). Holland, with her third appearance on the all-conference team, netted 12 goals, added 3 assists for 27 points, and set a new all-time scoring record for Penn State Schuylkill with 37 career goals. Bronson, also a three-time first-team honoree, tallied 7 goals and 3 assists and set the school’s all-time assists record with 17. Fenstermacher, a two-time first-team selection, led the PSUAC in goals (17) and points (37), including a standout run with five goals in back-to-back games.
First-team honoree Haley Sypniewski (Mount Carmel, PA / Mount Carmel Area) made her debut on the first team after an impressive season as a defender with 2 goals and 3 assists. Evelyn Crall (Chillicothe, OH / Chillicothe) earned second-team honors, contributing 4 goals and 6 assists, ranking her second in the conference for assists.
The John Fritz Sportsmanship Award was presented to Kay Lee Morgan (Hegins, PA / Tri-Valley) in recognition of her exemplary sportsmanship and embodiment of the PSUAC’s core values on and off the field.
