Holland, Bronson, and Sinko Receive PSUAC Weekly Awards
Brittney Holland (Women’s Soccer), Nia Bronson (Women’s Soccer), and Ryliegh Sinko (Women’s Volleyball) received weekly honors from the PSUAC for their performances during week one of the regular season.
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Brittney Holland (Women's Soccer), Nia Bronson (Women's Soccer), and Ryliegh Sinko (Women's Volleyball) received weekly honors from the PSUAC for their performances during week one of the regular season.
Brittney Holland (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area) was named the PSUAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her performance during week one of the 2024 season. Holland began the season determined to set the tone, scoring her first goal just 17 seconds into the season opener against the University of Valley Forge. She scored the decisive goal 4 minutes and 21 seconds into the second half as Penn State Schuylkill went on to win 3-0. Holland also scored the lone goal for Schuylkill in their second matchup against Rosemont College.
Receiving PSUAC Women's Soccer Defender of the Week honors was Nia Bronson (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove), who led the defensive effort for Penn State Schuylkill during their first two contests. Bronson's assist to Holland provided Schuylkill with their only goal in the loss to Rosemont College.
Ryliegh Sinko (Minersville, PA / Nativity BVM) was named the PSUAC Rookie of the Week after making an immediate impact during her first collegiate games. Sinko finished with 17 assists and 8 digs in her collegiate debut against King's College. She topped that performance a few hours later, finishing with 24 assists, 14 digs, and 4 kills in a 3-2 loss to Saint Elizabeth University. Sinko completed her week with 7 assists and 3 aces in a sweep against the University of Valley Forge.
