Schuylkill falls in season opener to Northampton Community College 73-78.
In a tightly contested game, Penn State Schuylkill lost the season opener at Northampton C.C.. After leading by one at the half 34-33, Schuykill was unable hold off the Spartans, falling 73-78. Schuylkill failed to capitilize down the stretch, going 1-12 from the three point line in the 2nd half and 0-4 from the free throw line in the last two minutes of the game.
In a losing effort Schuylkill was paced by Patrick Killian (Junior/ Blue Mountain), who led all scorers with 32 points, in his first collegiate game. Schuylkill also received strong contributions from John Morrow (Senior/ Phila. E&T), who had 10 point and 9 rebounds and Paul Carey (Junior/ Schuylkill Haven) chipped in with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
