Schuylkill grasped their first win of the season with a strong performance against Wilkes Barre, 69-65. Schuylkill, who went into the half trailing by five (34-39), used a 15-0 run early in the 2nd half to take a 11 point lead with 10 minutes to go in the game. Wilkes Barre would battle back to tie the game at 58-58 with 3 minutes to play. Schuylkill took the lead for good on back-to-back baskets by Dave Hardy (Senior/ Simon Gratz) and the Lions sealed the victory from free throw line, going 7 for 7 in the last 2 minutes of the game.
Schuylkill had three players reach double figures, led by John Morrow (Senior/ Phila. E & T) with 18, Patrick Killian (Junior/ Blue Mountain) and Michael Stewart (Freshman/ Parkway West) with 13 a piece.
